Dawg Gone IT! Cherry is
LOST!
|
| One of
the biggest fears that any dog owner can have is to discover that your
dog or puppy has run off. We have been house breaking Cherry now for the
past couple of weeks and she has responded greatly! We are such proud
parents! :) This incident happened last week, I let the dogs, Chewy and
Cherry out to do there doggy business, they have been very good at
staying in the yard. |
 |
I swear that they
had been outside for 5 minutes before I popped out and whistled. Chewy
(who is almost 2 years old) came right away. I figured since Cherry (7
Months) was still kind of puppy and requires some extra coaching to get
her to come right away, I would have to do a bit more whistling. I
whistled for5 minuets, after the whistling changed to calling and after
a few more minuets the calling had changed to a very loud shout! |
| I started
to panic, I went into the house and told the wife. She suggested that I
take Chewy and comb the surrounding blocks while she stayed out in front
of the house. Chewy and I proceeded down the street and around the
corner, crying out at the top of my lungs, "CHERRY, CHERRY! COME ON
CHERRY!!!" Not a hide nor hair could be found, I was very
upset to think I was never going to see this little puppy again. |
 |
As we rounded the
corner heading for home, my heart hurt as the only thing we had found
was Chewys lost Frisbee. Suddenly off
in the distance I could hear a bellowing of a familiar voice, it
was the misses. Maybe she found her, I thought to myself as I quickened
my pace towards home. Chewy and I spotted the wife standing on the side
of the house laughing. I was a bit angry
that she could stand and laugh after I raised my blood pressure to
almost dangerous levels. |
| I
stopped right next to her with a glaze in my eyes and snarled, "
what's so funny?". She pointed into the neighbors yard. Let me take
a moment to tell you about my neighbor, he is a nice guy but hates the
male cats in the neighborhood that spray his porch when his house cat
goes into heat. So he sets up a trap to chat them. So he can call the
animal shelter. So I walk into his yard and look into the trap.... guess
what I saw? (click on the photos below) |
 |
 |
| Evidently Cherry
smelled the open can of cat food that he uses to bait the cats into the
trap. So once she entered, that was it for her. She is a very quiet dog,
I think I have only heard her bark twice. So she was there under my
noise the whole time. Quiet and shivering but safe and sound! If you
have any amazing pet stories, please pass them along to use and if we
find them worthy, we will post them here on ChewyDog.Com
. Thank you for taking your time to read my story. I hope that you find
it inspirational. |
